Nintendo unveils The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

The kinda-sorta-sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie finally has a name.

Newsbrief: The next instalment in Nintendo's lucrative Super Mario movie series will be called The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. 

The company shared the news in a note to investors and revealed the film will be released worldwide by Universal Pictures beginning April 3, 2026. 

A number of actors will be reprising their roles from The Super Mario Bros. Movie including Chris Pratt (Mario), Anya Taylor-Joy (Princess Peach) Charlie Day (Luigi), Jack Black (Bowser), Keegan-Michael Key (Toad), and Kevin Michael Richardson (Kamek).

Nintendo announced the movie in March last year. Just like its predecessor, which earned an estimated $1.35 billion at the global box office, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be co-developed with Minions production house Illumination.
