nDreams CEO Patrick O’Luanaigh is stepping down after two decades
‘It has been an amazing, challenging and incredibly rewarding journey.’
NDreams co-founder and CEO Patrick O'Luanaigh is stepping down on June 1, 2025, after two decades at the helm of the VR studio.
He will be succeeded by nDreams chief development officer Tom Gillo, who has been with the company since 2015.
Prior to joining nDreams, Gillo served as executive producer and game director at Sony-owned (and now-shuttered) London Studio. During his tenure he worked on products such as PSVR Worlds, Wonderbook, PlayStation Home, and EyeToy.

O'Luanaigh, who co-founded nDreams alongside Tamsin O'Luanaigh in 2006, will remain with the company as chairman.
The long-serving boss said he was proud of his tenure—which comes to an end two years after nDreams was acquired by tech group Aonic for $110 million. That deal was followed by layoffs and studio closures in 2024, although nDreams opened a new internal studio called Compass just months after those cuts.
"I am incredibly proud of what we have built at nDreams since Tammy and I rented a tiny office in 2006 and took the plunge," said O'Luanaigh.
"It has been an amazing, challenging and incredibly rewarding journey. We have achieved so much already, and yet the company still has so far to go, with VR/MR still in its infancy. From a new vantage point as chairman, I'm excited to see nDreams reach even greater heights under Tom’s capable leadership."
NDreams is currently working on an early access PvP VR shooter called Frenzies for Meta Quest. The company also has other titles in active development across three internal teams.
Gillo said he intends to build upon O'Luanaigh's legacy to take the UK studio forward. "It's an honor to succeed Patrick as nDreams CEO. He and I go back a long way—all the way to PlayStation Home days," he said.
"Being on the journey alongside him building nDreams over the past ten years has been the defining chapter of my career to date, and being able to continue that journey and build upon that legacy into the future with the backing of Aonic is both a fantastic opportunity and a real privilege."
